17/4 - Fiji Museum

Hi All,

Fiji Museum located in the heart of Suva's botanical gardens, the place holds a nice collection which includes archaeological material dating back 3,700 years and cultural objects representing both Fiji's indigenous inhabitants and other communities that have settled in the island group over the past 100 years.

We have seen better museums during our travels, so we got little bit disappointment while exploring what considered to be the best source of historic knowledge that Fiji has to offer, but than again, this is Fiji, and things you get there you can't get here and visa versa ...

The Cannibal exhibition was one of the most interesting for us, cannibalism ceremony had been performed throughout many years along the human kind history, but here in Fiji, unlike other places you could find it recently (200 year ago).
Some Christiane missionaries were killed and cooked while coming and preaching about Jesus and stuff... we guess they weren't think god had these kind of plans for them ... ha ?

We left Suva the same day we reached it's Museum and moved on.

Have fun,
Efrat and Yoni.
